The swift do not have the race

Ecclesiastes 9:11
“The swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor….”
Indeed the swift ones do not have the race…at least in this secular world.
No matter how much heart we put into something, we don’t always get the sought-after prize.
No matter how fast we run the race, we sometimes have to settle for runner up.
No matter how sincerely we love someone, we don’t always end up being loved back.
No matter how much effort we put into being a crowd pleaser, we sometimes end up starting a fight.
Indeed, the swift do not always have the race….
But take heart, I know my time will come.
In the race for life, I don’t need to speed my way past others anymore.
It’s a race where I need to head into the finish line at all cost whether swift or not.
And it’s a race that everyone should aim to win!
