If I’m being honest, it wasn’t as peaceful as it was possibly intended to be. On a Thursday afternoon, it was pretty busy, and the long, narrow shape surrounded by roads means you can constantly hear the roar of traffic. Entrance was only ARS150 though, and what it lacks in tranquility, it more than makes up for in aesthetics (and besides, if you need peace and quiet, nowhere compares to the Cemetary of Recoleta – in my experience, dead people can be far better relied upon not to disturb you than main roads). And then on to the Paseo el Rosedal! Now, I’ve been reliably informed that this park normally contains about 18,000 roses. Unfortunately, being winter, there weren’t any (obviously. Facepalm). Even without them, though, it was impressive and stately.
As there were only five of us, we topped it off with a café stop close by the
Yum. Anyway, better go, my hosts’ cat has now succeeded in opening my wardrobe door, after a couple of days of futile attempts. Get excited, though, because next weekend I’m off to Iguazú falls on the Brazilian border!
